Hello, Dreamers. I’m Laura Huff, and I’m a certificated Dream Consultant and Spiritual Director.
I’m passionate about teaching dreamwork to individuals, groups, and organizations. Whether or not you remember your dreams, you can tap into this metaphorical practice to pick up on valuable insights from your Wisest Self.
I’ve been tending my dreams since I was a child, and discovered in my mid-30’s that dreamwork was a real discipline – something to learn about and practice. I dove in head first, training at Haden Institute’s 2-year program in Dream Spirituality and apprenticing under Dr. Ben Curtis in Nashville. I followed that with another 2-year program at Haden Institute, earning my certificate as a Spiritual Director so I could do better listening and contextualizing of the work in the faith world. I continued my training with a Masters in Psychology at Lipscomb University. I also have a Masters in English from Vanderbilt University.
I’ve facilitated dreamwork since 1999, including a 15-year dream group at my home church, Second Presbyterian in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve built a practice with local clients, adding workshops and presentations in places such as Columbia Theological Seminary, Scarritt Bennett Center, St. Mary’s at Sewanee, SoulFeast, and the IASD International Conference. Now, I’m available to dreamers anywhere through Zoom and Facetime.
Dream wisdom is not for hiding in a notebook: it is for living out loud. Dream wisdom has helped me make difficult, life-giving decisions, navigate challenging relationships, find & heal cancer, and stretch my capacity for living in the mystery I call God.
Dreams have also offered a lot of laughter and a perspective that helped me — eventually — relax enough to trust this wild river that’s carrying me.
I invite you to explore the wisdom of your own dreams, which flow like a river bearing you along on unknowable depths…which come like morning manna to feed the day’s hunger for meaning… and which shine like fire by night, to guide us all on the journey toward the greater goodness.
