I'm partnering with the Nashville Jung Circle to offer two levels of community dreamwork this fall:
1. INTRO TO DREAM GROUPS WORKSHOP: These are free, open sessions that will give you the basics for personal and group dreamwork. Join us Thursday, Oct. 4, 6:00-7:30 at Marston Hall in Glendale Methodist Church, 900 Glendale Lane. Enter through the door off the parking lot and come straight down the long hallway -- we'll be at the end of the hall.
If you can't make it, no worries. I'll be scheduling at least one each month.
if you want more, you can....
2. JOIN A DREAM GROUP: Once you've attended an intro session, you can sign up for a dream group. This fall we''ll run groups for 6 meetings, scheduling both daytime and evening groups as needed. -Groups will be small (6-8 people) and run for 90 minutes. -You may sign up with friends or be placed in a group based on your preference for meeting time. -Cost is $ 100 for a six-week series. Book and art materials provided. -Groups will meet at Glendale Methodist Church, 900 Glendale Lane.
Again, there will be more groups to come, so if the timing isn't good for you right now, let me know you're interested and I'll put you on my email list for Winter groups.
Note - if you've already participated in one of my dream groups, you can simply go to the tab on this website marked CONTACT and sign up by writing a message in the little box. Include your name, email, phone number, and best times/days so I can place you in a group. If you want to be in a group with a particular person (or several people), note that too. Thanks.
(Here's the blurb we sent out describing dream groups:)
JUNGIAN DREAMWORK: NIGHT WISDOM FOR DAILY LIVING
Dreams offer wild wisdom for daily living. Join dream mentor Laura Huff Hileman for a season of Jungian dreamwork to deepen your personal growth, enhance your relationships, and connect with a powerful sense of mystery and meaning.
Participants will learn to -remember dreams -reconnect with language of image & emotion - learn basics of Jungian dream theory - discover links between dreams & waking life - practice “living the questions.”
Method: We’ll engage with each other’s dreams using a secure and respectful model of group dreamwork advocated by Jungian dreamworkers worldwide. You’ll explore your own and each other’s dreams, discovering how all dreams carry meaning for each of us.
We’ll use Jungian techniques of association, amplification, and active imagination. Then we’ll integrate your dream images and dream wisdom into waking life using simple forms of art, writing, and dream tasks. While this work is demanding, it feels more like deep play.
This fall's groups wills be pilots for the Community Dream Groups linked to the Nashville Jung Circle. More about that soon!
Individual Dream Sessions Your dreams offer insights into waking life issues - your choices, changes, and challenges relating to personal and spiritual growth. I believe that each dreamer can understand his or her own dream wisdom, but it helps to have a trained listener guide the process. I'll listen to your dreams and help you explore their layered significance. I’ll also help you find ways to work, play, and pray with your dreams so that you can integrate your insights into daily living and spiritual growth.
Sessions in person or by phone or Facetime: $75/hr or 4 sessions for $260; sliding scale available. Group Dreamwork In group dreamwork, we use a method that honors the dreamer’s privacy and still opens up the dream for shared exploration. Amazing, fun, profound, intimate, challenging, deep, and life-changing are words dreamers have used to describe their groups. Sign up with friends or request to be placed in a group. We can meet at your space or at my office at Glendale United Methodist Church.
Group size: 4-6 dreamers ` Ten 90-minute session - $250 per dreamer; sliding scale available. Includes handouts and art materials. Number of sessions may vary with the needs of your group, and pricing will vary accordingly. Contact Laura to talk through variations and alternative ideas. Partner Dreamwork Sharing dreams with a friend or spouse adds a rich dimension to the relationship and builds faith, courage, and creativity in waking life. Dream partners learn to tune into each other’s unique dream language and integrate it with familiar spiritual practices and waking life concerns. Schedule 4 sessions together for suggested donation of $220; sliding scale available.
CAN'T REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS? No worries! Use dreamwork principles to discover meaning in your waking life.
Quotidian Metaphors We take your ordinary waking life situations - like the "accidental altar" on your tabletop, a fascinating photograph, or a weedy garden - and see them anew with sacred sight. Anything can open into soul poetry for you to read with new eyes.
Let Radnor Lake Dream For You Meet at Radnor Lake State Park where we'll walk, watch, and wonder as we allow Nature to be your dream-giver. Alternating between silence & talking, stillness & walking, you'll see with wise eyes the layered mysteries and metaphors that Nature offers to your imagination. Bring a camera and a small notebook if you wish.
Choose a walk of 1 hour, 90 minutes, or 2 hours. We'll discuss routes, pace, and weather before we set out.
DREAM EDUCATION Workshops for an hour, a series, or a retreat: -Night Wisdom for Daily Living: Practical Dreamwork for Busy Souls -Nightmares; Three Ways to Work with Midnight Emergence-ies -"Blazing Lilies" - An Introduction to Dreamwork based on my "Field Guide to Dreaming" - This is the Gate of Heaven! - Dreams and Dreamers in Scripture -Dreams as Parables in the Gospel God is Writing Through Your Life
GROW A DREAM GROUP Start and sustain a dream group in your faith community or circle of friends. I’ll lead a basic workshop, help organize your group, mentor your facilitator, provide resources, and assist in any other ways you need. This package requires a minimum of 8 weeks.
HOLY LISTENING / SPIRITUAL DIRECTION Not everybody needs or wants dreamwork. A spiritual director is one who listens with you for the movement of God in your life and helps you grow in ways that God seems to be leading you. People find this helpful in times of discernment, change, and challenge. Individual sessions. $65/hour or 4 sessions for $220.
Art materials, handouts, and access to a dream library are included. I keep rates as affordable as possible. However, if you are interested in the practice and need a sliding scale, I can make arrangements.
My office is with the Glendale Community Partners at Glendale United Methodist Church, 900 Glendale Lane, Nashville 37204. Come upstairs by way of the outdoor staircase. I'm down the hall in Room 206. If I'm with someone when you arrive, please take a seat in the waiting room across the hall. If the steps pose a difficulty, let me know and I"ll be happy to meet downstairs.

These practices can shed light on an issue you’re working on in therapy, or open up new territory for therapeutic exploration. I stay within the limits of spiritual direction and can offer referrals if you want them.
I usually integrate spiritual inquiry with Jungian theory and invite practice of different dreamwork methods. I’ll work with your needs and wishes, however, so let me know what you’d like to see.
